LOVING CUPS
The tradition of loving cups is thought to date back to the 11th century: two handled vessels were traditionally used as cups at community events, such as weddings and christenings. The loving cups from The Birth Shop are made from earthenware and are hand-thrown at a pottery near Ottery St. Mary. The child’s name can also be gilded in gold onto the front of the cups: an ideal present for marking Baby’s arrival into the family.

The cups are available in blue or pink trim, both have a traditional knot on the front to symbolise love and unity.
